We publish summaries of Complaints and Appeal Board decisions on our website for everyone to see. We include summaries of the original complaint, responses received (from the advertiser and the media companies) and the reasons for the Board’s decision.

The voluntary compliance rate with our decisions is between 96-99%. In the rare cases of non-compliance, this is aided by our media member platforms who will not publish or broadcast ads following an upheld complaint, and through news coverage of our decisions.

A searchable database of recent decisions is available here.

An external database of decisions dating back to the 1990’s is also available on the New Zealand Legal Information Institute database.
